Worms WMD Switch Retail Release

October 1, in the year of our Lord 2018 -- Super Rare Games recently announced their partnership with Team17 to physically release Worms W.M.D for the Nintendo Switch™ - only 4,000 copies of this well-loved indie title will ever be on sale and the game is out today exclusively at superraregames.com.

Worms W.M.D. is the latest addition to the much-loved franchise and offers fans the most complete way of playing the series, giving players gorgeous hand-drawn 2D graphics, online play and single Joy-Con support. This installment goes back to the roots which made Team17’s long-running series the household name it is today, adding a host of new features to ensure this is the best one yet!

“Releasing such a iconic title from such a reputable publisher is an honor for us. I grew up on the Worms series so is certainly a dream come true!” Said George Perkins from Super Rare Games.

“The series is older than me and has certainly gone from strength to strength over the course of its lifetime. Worms W.M.D. is my favourite one to date and I am thrilled that we had the chance to work on it!”

The Super Rare edition will include a 4 page full colour manual, reversible cover, exclusive sticker, as well as three trading cards randomly selected from the five-card set. Excitingly, 125 of these cards have been signed by the development team of the game - making some copies even rarer.

“We’re delighted to be working with Super Rare Games to bring a limited edition boxed version of Worms W.M.D. on Nintendo Switch™ to fans.” said Harley Homewood, Business Development Director, Team17 “W.M.D. is the pinnacle of this iconic series and it’s great to see it get a physical release on the Nintendo Switch™.”
