Newsies Releases Free Photobooth App

2013 - Disney’s hit Broadway show Newsies released its
first social media app for iPhone and Android devices. The
Newsies Photo Booth app lets fans continue to relive their
experience with their favorite cast members long after leaving
the Nederlander Theatre. The Photo Booth app is available for
free download via the iTunes and Google Play stores. To download

Users create their own photos with cast members by taking a new
photo of themselves or choosing one from their photo library.
Instantly, fans can add up to three cast members to the existing
picture. The 16 unique poses can be quickly and easily altered
according to brightness, scale and orientation for each
individual photo. Once completed, the photo can be shared with
friends via Facebook, Twitter or email.
Newsies social media presence has been formidable since the
show’s inception. Newsies launched its Twitter page in October
2011 and quickly became the third most followed Broadway musical
on the platform. In less than a year, the show has fostered the
fifth largest Facebook community on Broadway, only surpassed by
long-running hits The Lion King, Wicked, Mary Poppins, and The
Book of Mormon. Newsies currently has 233,000 fans on Facebook
and nearly 32,000 guests have "Checked in" on Facebook as they
attended the show. On a weekly basis, nearly half a million
people see Facebook posts from Newsies.
