Spiritual Nature of Video Games
Cordova, TN; March 13, in the year of our Lord 2017--Family
Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family
friendly video games is looking at the reality of the spiritual
within the video game industry. It is really easy to point out
facts. A fact like everything brings glory to God or tries to
bring glory to itself. Everything we watch, play, read, and
listen to brings us closer to God or slides us away from Him.
That is definitely very easy to see. That would be taking the
easy road. The road traveled by a great many others. Jesus
called us to take the path less taken. To follow the road less
traveled. When it comes to the spiritual nature of video games
there is so much that can said. There is so much that can be
discussed. I will scatch the surface in this article.

There have been a variety of visual and audio references to
religious beliefs in a long list of video games. Numerous The
Legend of Zelda video games have religious images, audio, and
text within them. They teach the player to embrace a religious
and spiritual belief in a goddess. This is the Gaia religious
belief. Mega Man Battle Network 4 contains Buddhist teachings
and forces the player to donate money to a Buddhist temple. The
God of War video games promote the Greek mythology religious
beliefs that are still practiced by some to this very day.
Xenosaga teaches the Gnostic religious beliefs. There is even an
atheist video game out there. There are Christian video games.
There are Muslim video games. There are Satanic video games. I
could go on and on. The point is there are plenty of video games
				with religious beliefs.

Some people even think video games themselves will become a
religious belief in the future. Gamers will worship at the altar
of video games and viciously defend any criticism of them. Don’t
believe it could happen? Think about those that cosplay
characters from video games. Are they any different from ancient
religious beliefs where people dressed up in animal skins and
pretended to be deities? What about the people who register
their religious belief as THE FORCE after watching the Star Wars
movies. I never said these people had a grasp of reality in
their brains. Just that they make the claim. Video games as a
religious belief are not that far off. Some people are even
				making the claim right now.

Some people put their heads in the sand and try to claim there
is no spiritual aspect to video games. Some people try to claim
there are no religious beliefs in video games. Most modern day
role playing video games are filled with religious beliefs. Many
of them contain indoctrination into the Gaia religious belief. I
hear complaints from families all of the time about video games
that are attacking their Judeo-Christian beliefs. Families and
gamers can no longer remain ignorant to this reality. The people
making video games are putting in their own spiritual and
religious beliefs. We as consumers have to decide if we want to
financially support those or financially support video games
that encourage, uplift, and grow the truth. This is one of the
reasons Family Friendly Gaming mentions the religious teachings
in these games in our reviews. We want an educated public.
