Special Pichu Character at Gamestop
January 27, in the year of our Lord 2010 - For
the first time outside Japan, a special Pikachu™-colored version
of the adorable Pokémon Pichu™ will be available for
distribution to Pokémon fans at more than 4,300 GameStop stores
located throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Beginning Saturday,
January 30, through Sunday, February 14, The Pokémon Company
International and Nintendo of America Inc. will offer players
the opportunity to receive this Level 30 character that cannot
be acquired through normal gameplay. During that time, Pokémon
fans who bring their Pokémon Diamond Version, Pokémon Pearl
Version or Pokémon Platinum Version Game Cards (each sold
separately), along with their Nintendo DS™ or Nintendo DSi™
system, to a U.S. GameStop store will be able to wirelessly add
this unique Pokémon to their Pokédex.

This unique Pikachu-colored Pichu comes equipped with attacks
such as Charge and Endure, as well as special moves Volt Tackle
and Endeavor. Of special note to game players is that this Pichu
comes with the Held Item Everstone and is in a Poké Ball™ known
as the Cherish Ball - a special Poké Ball exclusive to Pokémon
distributed at events.
What's more, this Pichu holds a secret that will be revealed in
the upcoming Pokémon HeartGold Version and Pokémon SoulSilver
Version games! When you trade Pikachu-colored Pichu into one of
those games, you'll be able to meet a new friend - Spiky-eared
Pichu. The diminutive Spiky-eared Pichu, seen in the latest
Pokémon movie, Pokémon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life, cannot be
encountered without transferring Pikachu-colored Pichu into
Pokémon HeartGold Version or Pokémon SoulSilver Version!
This Pichu distribution comes just before the highly anticipated
release of Pokémon HeartGold Version and Pokémon SoulSilver
Version on March 14, 2010.
