PlayStation Gets in on the Extreme Action at 2009 X Games

Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA), a proud sponsor of ESPN’s 13th annual Winter X Games, will offer winter sports fans a unique PlayStationŽ experience and an opportunity to interact with some of Winter X Games’ best of the best with LittleBigPlanet™, this year’s most talked about videogame for the PLAYSTATIONŽ3 (PS3™). The extreme intensity begins on January 22-25, in the year of our Lord 2009 in Aspen/Snowmass, Colorado, as premier athletes from across the globe compete for medals, prizes and pride in skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling.

PlayStation fans and X Games groupies alike can get in on the gaming action at the newly revamped PlayStation tent, showcasing customized LittleBigPlanet levels created by today’s hottest extreme athletes, including Sarah Burke, Tanner Hall, and rising half pipe hero Louie Vito. Developed exclusively for PS3 by Media Molecule, LittleBigPlanet is a community-based game that enables players to use their character’s amazing abilities to play, create and share what they build with other gamers throughout the world via PLAYSTATIONŽNetwork.

Attendees will also have an opportunity to put their X Games knowledge to the test with the hit trivia game, BUZZ! Quiz TV™ for PS3. Customized X Games mini-quizzes will be created on MyBUZZquiz.com for extreme sports buffs to go head-to-head to compete for one-of-a-kind prizes in the PlayStation tent.

SCEA’s continued sponsorship of the Winter X Games highlights our relationship and involvement with a key lifestyle of an influential group of our core fans. We look forward to sharing the hands-on experience of some of the most exciting videogames of the season, including the celebrity athlete customized levels for LittleBigPlanet and BUZZ! Quiz TV.
