Jada on DVD October 13
Universal City, Calif. (September 2, in the year of our Lord 2009) – Jada, the story of a woman whose faith in god saves her family and herself during a tumultuous time, starring Clifton Powell, Rockmond Dunbar, and Siena Goines and Jason Weaver debuts on DVD October 13 from Melee Entertainment (distributed by Vivendi Entertainment). Directed by Rob Johnson and produced by Rob Johnson, Johnny Feldman, and Steve Lockett of TMC (The Movie Company) Investments in conjunction with 51mm Films, Jada has a pre-order date of September 15 and is price to own at SRP $19.99.
Jada had its world premiere on August 9 on Gospel Music Channel (GMC) television network and will be re-aired on October 4 in advance of its release on DVD. The film also played in Atlanta’s Spaghetti Junction Urban Festival and closed out the Hollywood Black Film Festival.
"Jada, the story of a woman's struggle to keep her family together and the role the Church plays in the African American Community, is the type of inspiring story that we are careful to select and one which will resonate with our viewers," commented Brad Siegel, vice chairman, GMC. The film’s producers cast a number of ex-gang members and ex-convicts in the film to help them along in their road to recovery with the hope that they could have legitimate jobs in the entertainment business.
Synopsis:
Jada (Siena Goines)is a young, single mother struggling to raise her two children in a time of personal difficulty when she receives help from a local pastor (Clifton Powell) who hears her struggles. In addition to helping her family, the pastor introduces Jada to Simon Williams (Rockmond Dunbar) who also shares her love of God and together they begin a journey that centers around their undeniable faith in each other and the people around them.
