THQ preps Wall-E

Our friends at THQ will be releasing video games based on the Disney Pixar Wall-E movie. Expect these games to be on sale at your favorite retailer in the Summer of 2008. Heavy Iron is developing the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii versions. Asobo Studio is developing the Playstation 2, Personal Computer, and Mac versions. Helixe is developing the Nintendo DS version, and Savage Entertainment is developing the Playstation Portable version.

Directly from THQ's press release : “In Wall-E players take control of resourceful robots on a quest spanning the earth to the mammoth axiom starliner parked on the edge of the solar system. Join Wall-E, Eve and a misfit band of robots as they battle their way through the solar system to deliver a message of hope from an all but forgotten world.

Players will zip, race and blast as they take Wall-E and/or Eve through a fast-paced adventure in the newest video game based on the Disney Pixar blockbuster movie Wall-E. Featuring nine worlds filled with non-stop action and adventure the game allows players to carry out intense missions, dodge dangerous enemies, solve puzzles and navigate their way through a futuristic world.

Players can expect to enjoy new storylines and explore massive environments not seen in the Disney Pixar movie. Wall-E compacts trash to create powerful cubes, and uses them to alter the environment, solve puzzles and defeat enemies. Eve has fast-flying action and exploration with shooter flight game play. Both playable characters have lasers with which they can blast enemies and obstacles.”

Expect more information on Wall-E as it becomes available including additional screen shots, reviews, and of course analysis. Family Friendly Gaming #18, which is scheduled for release the last week of June in the year of our Lord 2008 will include additional information.
