Synopsis:
Armstrong Cane (Rhames) served 15 years in prison for manslaughter. But now a changed man he serves God as the Pastor of his community’s dilapidated church. As he works to rebuild and reconnect to the community he left behind, the ex con meets Norris (Dwain Murphy) and recognizes a young man headed down a wrong, frighteningly similar path. Cane fights to save Norris from a ruthless drug dealer (McDermott) while also fighting to save his church from a slick cross-town preacher (Chavira). Violence seems the only answer and the ultimate question remains: Can people really change, or will the demons of their pasts overcome them?
Making his feature film directorial debut, Duane Crichton’s Saving God is from a screenplay by Michael Jackson. The film was produced by Domenic Serafino, Wayne Thompson, Philip Mellows and André van Heerden. Well known for his strong spiritual beliefs, Ving Rhames served as executive producer.
