Deal or no Deal coming to Wii

NEW JERSEY (July 23, 2008)—Endemol and Zoo Games, Inc. today announced a deal to develop and publish a new Nintendo video game for the Endemol franchise “Deal or No Deal.”  The title, scheduled for a November release for the Wii™ system, is slated to retail at $29.99.  This is the newest title in an ongoing collaboration between the two companies, following the successful launches of “1 vs. 100” on Nintendo DS™ (June 2008) and “Deal or No Deal” on Nintendo DS™ and Game Boy Advance™ (2007).

While the video game will follow the format of the hit television show, new game modes and mini-games, such as Million Dollar Mission and Double or Nothing, will be creative additions for interactive play at home.  Selecting cases, choosing “Deal” or “No Deal”, and other on-screen options take advantage of the simple and intuitive point-and-click controls of the Wii Remote™.  Players will also be able to use their custom-made Mii™ characters as unique in-game contestants.  The game will also feature television host Howie Mandel.

“Endemol, proud of our history of being family-friendly, is very excited to have the Wii™ version of ‘Deal or No Deal’ releasing,” says Tina Hoover, Director of Production for Endemol USA.  “It is the perfect product extension for the franchise, is timed perfectly for the holiday season, and is a ‘must have’ for any Wii™ owners who love the show.”

“Zoo Games is extremely excited to bring the next installment of the ‘Deal or No Deal’ franchise into the home for Wii™,” says Steve Newton, Executive Vice President of Zoo Games.  “This updated video game version of the wildly popular TV show, will be the perfect vehicle for at-home fun with family and friends.  The easy-to-use interactive capabilities of the game system and the participatory nature of the show make this title an ideal fit for ‘Deal’ diehards, and gamers of all ages.”

The deal between Zoo Games and Endemol was facilitated by Joy Tashjian Marketing Group (JTMG) and Zoo Games’ licensing agent, 360ep, Inc.

“Deal or No Deal” has been a smash hit for NBC, consistently ranking #1 in its timeslot on Monday nights.  The show has aired more than 175 new one-hour episodes with over 200 hours broadcasted throughout the show’s history.  The success of “Deal or No Deal” has prompted the upcoming launch of a brand new half-hour syndicated series—a fast-paced game where contestants quickly play for cash prizes.
