Thanksgiving 2008

This year continues to amaze me in how many different ways God blesses us at Family Friendly Gaming. There are plenty of challenges in life, and plenty of things that need to be done. All in all there are plenty of things I find to be thankful for. God sustains us with good health, and we pray for things by faith. Putting our faith in Him is the most logical thing any of us can ever do.

I was reading the Holy Bible to children this morning, and explaining why we are thankful for so much. They loved every minute of getting a true, loving, and pure education. I allowed them the time for questions, and gave them the answers that can stick with them through the rest of their lives. It saddened me to hear they do not get the same compassionate education in other areas of the lives.

It made me wish I had more time to teach even more children the truths of the Word of God. In some small way it is an extension of the very important work I do here at Family Friendly Gaming. It is also something I can pray about, and see if God opens any doors to assist fellow parents in the realm of state accepted education. There certainly is a great need, and throwing more money at the problem has been a dismal failure. The educational system in America needs real reform, and real change.

Fasting is a topic that few even consider on Thanksgiving, so I feel it is my duty to bring up. Gluttony is becoming a worse and worse problem in America. Being thankful for all the food is a great thing to do, but what is more important is not over-indulging. What would you do with all that extra food? There are plenty of poor people who need it - and they are all over the world. Take some time this Thanksgiving season to fast, and pray. Don't worry I have, and will continue to practice what I preach.

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time for family. We have been spending a lot of time together as a family, and enjoying one another's company. We kept the television set off, talked to one another, and got some physical exercise. Keeping the television set off on Thanksgiving is one of the most precious memories I will continue to cherish about this wonderful holiday.

God bless you and yours,
