Miniland Adventure

Family Friendly Gaming was sent a digital download code for Miniland Adventure on Steam. We did not request a code for this disposable video game. I hope the company behind Miniland Adventure is up to date on the policies on our Legal page. I decided to try Miniland Adventure on my Steam Deck. I need something to play on that besides Stumble Guys and Isla Sinaloa. I never purchase digital only video games so messing with something sent to us seemed like a good idea. Finally we needed a game review in this issue so I put this review where we had a need.

My experiences with Miniland Adventure were frustrating right from the start. We start by placing biome blocks on the area. Each morning we get new boxes we can add to our area. This gives us more to do. We must watch our thirst and hunger bars in Miniland Adventure as well. I got confused and could not figure out how to do much in Miniland Adventure. I tried to play the tutorial. I did not know how to open doors to learn how to do things. Once I learned how to open doors I got a bit farther in Miniland Adventure. Then I had to learn how to eat and drink. I had to learn how to setup a camp. I feel like I need a PhD in how to even play this game to enjoy it.

Miniland Adventure reminds me of how Minecraft was when it first started. There is a survival and creative mode in Miniland Adventure. There are monsters to fight off, resources to collect, and items to craft in Miniland Adventure. The graphics are on the small side in Miniland Adventure. It might look even worse on the Steam Deck. I did look at Gaming PC pictures and videos of Miniland Adventure. The graphics are not winning any awards. The music is fun to listen to. A bit on the low side for my tastes. I had to crank the volume to hear it.

Miniland Adventure is one of those games you can play for a few minutes every day and then come back to later. The steep learning curve at the beginning does not help Miniland Adventure with casual gamers. You must really want to learn to play Miniland Adventure to make things work. The tutorial, tips and tricks, and maybe even their Discord server is needed to be able to properly play Miniland Adventure. Then you will be off to the races doing many of the same things.
