Young Justice Targets #1

I am so thankful I had the money to purchase the Young Justice Targets #1 comic book. The characters on the cover interested me and that Young Justice animated television show was interesting. There will be spoilers in this review. The first thing about Young Justice Targets #1 that stuck out to me is the weird feeling paper. I am not the biggest fan of the paper used for Young Justice Targets #1. I also noticed that this is a limited series. From my research there will be six issues within this series.

The paper feels a bit grainy to me. There is some violent content, and there are ads that are found throughout Young Justice Targets #1. There are fifteen pages of content, then five pages of a memory, then three pages tribute to Neal Adams. The final pages of Young Justice Targets #1 are some more advertisements. The storyline in Young Justice Targets #1 revolves around some heroes trying to protect Queen Perdita. We find out one of the heroes failed to protect her father and he was assassinated.

There are a lot of Harper brothers trying to protect Queen Perdita in Young Justice Targets #1. Can you guess where the story goes in Young Justice Targets #1? These bad guys in suits of flying armor wind up kidnapping the queen. At least it looks that way at the end of Young Justice Targets #1. There is a possibility that other heroes will intervene at the start of the next issue. I hope that happens because if it does not then we will need to go into a rescue mission. Why do these bad guys want her so badly? What is their end game?

Young Justice Targets #1 feels really short with only fifteen pages of story and then five pages of a memory. I hope future issues do not continue that pattern. I will have to read them to find out. I honestly have no idea what will come next. I think I have the next couple of issues so I will be able to find out when I can work this comic book series into my review schedule. I also hope different and better paper is used for this comic book that costs $3.99. Do you think I am too hopeful?
