Have you seen the unboxing video the boys did of Skylanders Imaginators? I hope so. If not click here to see it. Activision gave Family Friendly Gaming the full starter pack with two master Skylander characters and one creation crystal. Also included in the generous package was ten more creation crystals, and nine more master Skylanders. This is an insane amount of stuff in one package. We are very grateful and thankful. Activision certainly put their best foot forward.

For everyone out there that thinks we get our way all the time, let me set you straight. We asked for Skylanders Imaginators on the Playstation 4. We wanted to play Crash Bandicoot again. So do not think we get everything we ask for. We are very appreciative of what we did receive. No sour grapes there friends. The new core key element in Skylanders Imaginators is creating your own in game character. The more families play Skylanders Imaginators the more content they unlock to expand what their in game character will look like.

There is something about Skylanders that I continue to marvel at today. What is it? The story telling and the humor. Disney Infinity never got near the storytelling or the humor. Lego Dimensions has also never gotten near the story telling. They are a little closer on the humor than Disney Infinity was. Thing is Skylanders Imaginators is the originator, and the top dog in the toy to video game for a reason.

I hope you enjoy the walkthrough video series we are releasing of Skylanders Imaginators. It will take us some time to get all of it online. We have many, many episodes. We tried to showcase as many of the figures as we could. We also only went to older Skylanders whenever we absolutely needed to. We wanted to focus on as many of the new Skylanders as we could.

Please note we did not mess with the free app that can connect to Skylanders Imaginators. I love the Ancient Brain character that works with Kaos in Skylanders Imaginators. Magic and undead characters continue in Skylanders Imaginators. There is also action adventure cartoon violence as we trash a variety of creatures in Skylanders Imaginators. The cost of Skylanders Imaginators is the same as previous Skylanders' video games.

Stickers come with Skylanders Imaginators instead of cards. I was a bit perplexed by this personally. I really liked the cards that were done in the past Skylanders' video games. The length of Skylanders Imaginators is comparable with previous games. There is so much more to do after beating the game now though. There are so many categories we are graded on in each of the levels. Families can replay Skylanders Imaginators for weeks. I am sure there will be expansion packs released in the future.

I like Skylanders Imaginators more than Skylanders Superchargers. We also noticed there is no traps allowed in Skylanders Imaginators from Skylanders Trap Team. Older Skylander characters work with Skylanders Imaginators. Traps will not work though. There is a separate mode for the vehicles from Skylanders Superchargers. So the majority of Skylanders Imaginators is backwards compatible.

I am pleased to see the Skylanders franchise continue to do well with Skylanders Imaginators. I stopped trying to predict what they would come up with next time, years ago. Skylanders Imaginators is a very solid Skylanders game that continues the franchise in a meaningful way. In some ways Skylanders Imaginators feels like a back to basics game that we needed.
