Sonic Boom Fire & Ice Release Date
March 19, in the year of our Lord 2016 --
SEGA ® of America announced today at its SXSW panel: “Sonic the
Hedgehog: 25 Year Anniversary” that the iconic ‘blue blur,’
Sonic the Hedgehog, will be racing onto shelves once again in
Sonic Boom™: Fire & Ice exclusively for Nintendo 3DS on
September 27, 2016. Also revealed at the panel, SEGA announced
that it will celebrate Sonic’s 25th Anniversary in fantastic
fashion with an exciting fan event during San Diego Comic-Con on
July 22nd at the House of Blues.
The panel, featuring Sonic Social Media Manager Aaron Webber,
Mike Pollock (voice of Dr. Eggman), Roger Smith (voice of Sonic
the Hedgehog), Takashi Iizuka, (Head of Sonic Team) and Yuji
Naka (Sonic’s original creator)-- was an in-depth look at
Sonic’s rich history across gaming, TV, merchandise and more,
giving fans an inside glimpse directly from key figures in
Sonic’s history.
Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice will introduce more adventure, speed,
exploration, and an all-new fire and ice gameplay element to
propel the action. Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice, a single player game
with collaborative gameplay components, shares key characters,
events, and lore of the Sonic Boom universe. Players will see
the triumphant return of Sonic and his friends – Tails,
Knuckles, Amy and Sticks - in both familiar and new settings as
they embark on a brand new adventure to battle Dr. Eggman as
well as an all-new villain, D-Fekt.
