ONE of 500 Announced

Munich, June 2nd, in the year of our Lord 2021 -- Lightword Productions and remote control productions (RCP) announced today that the companies are teaming up to create ONE of 500. The game is at an early stage of development, with the most impactful story retold at the core of the project: the life of Jesus of Nazareth. Leveraging RCP's support and international partner network, Lightword is now looking for additional investors or a publisher.

ONE of 500 envisions to retell the story of the Gospel from the perspective of a young fisherman living in Galilee, roughly 2000 years ago. "In contrast to what many people expect when they hear of such a game, we are taking a unique approach. We want to confront players with the fundamental questions of life. They have to make difficult decisions and find their own stance," says Amin Josua, CEO of Lightword Productions. "We are committed to high visual quality, a mature style and tone, compelling gameplay and story, as well as a historically accurate reconstructed world. We want to create a game we'd love to play as gamers ourselves."

While on their adventure, their story will intersect in a meaningful way with the biblical events. As players progress, they will discover and understand the culture, society, political and religious actors, and the smoldering conflicts of this time.

"Back in the days, I was passionately devouring Bible comics in the library. This was part of my entry into the subject of faith and values - through a medium that suited me", comments RCP's CEO Hendrik Lesser. "ONE of 500 conveys the same message and values that we at RCP follow as well in a contemporary way."

To bring this vision to life in the most faithful way, Lightword Productions is uniting game developers with theologians and archaeologists. Prof. Dr. Dr. Dr. Dieter Vieweger, Director of the Institute for Biblical Archaeology in Wuppertal, and one of the consultants in the project sees it as a unique merging of passion with credibility - "The 'Bible for Gamers' combines scientific thoroughness with the legitimate curious question of what it 'really was like back then.' I wholeheartedly support the project because it is a wonderful opportunity to translate the Bible into the virtual world finally."

By joining the RCP family of studios, Lightword will be unlocking the additional expertise of the experienced team around Lesser, who will support the developers on their mission to advance ONE of 500 to the full production stage.
