Traveller AR MMORPG Now in Open Beta for iOS
AUSTIN, TX – January 17, in the year of our Lord 2012
– ingZ, Inc., an Austin-based mobile software development
company, announced today that Traveller AR, a massively
multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), is now in open
beta for the iPhone, iPad, and iTouch. Traveller AR is available
for a limited time to open beta players at the Apple Appstore

During the open beta period, ingZ, Inc. is load testing their
server architecture and future scalability before releasing the
full-featured game in a staged worldwide release. Game players
who download Traveller AR during the limited open beta period
are encouraged to provide feedback to ingZ, Inc. regarding
Traveller AR’s features and playability through the Traveller AR
forum and built-in app feedback form and will be able to
contribute to future fixes and features.

spent a lot of time figuring out, in addition to exploring and
fighting in the immense setting of the Traveller universe, is
how to create a true three dimensional sand box in space, where
players can go any distance in any direction, and getting the
scale right so you truly feel the vastness of space. I don’t
think any game has come close to what we’ve done with the look
and feel of Traveller AR, certainly not on mobile. We have also
done a lot of work on our dynamic galactic economy and how to
allow maximum player interaction and original player generated
content into the game. We are excited to put this system out
there for our open beta players to test and look forward to

This highly anticipated release makes available for the first
time the classic pen-and-paper space-based role-playing game,
Traveller, on an online electronic platform. Traveller AR
utilizes nearly 35 years of science fiction history and game
development that the original game provides. Traveller was
created in 1976 by Marc Miller, who has been involved in the
Traveller AR project from the beginning.
