Raystorm Now Available on the App Store

 

 

LOS ANGELES (June 22, in the year of our Lord 2012) – TAITO Corporation (TAITO®), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Square Enix Holdings Co., Ltd., today announced the worldwide release of RAYSTORM™ for iPhone® and iPod touch®. Celebrating the release of RAYSTORM, its prequel RAYFORCE™ (released to the App Store™ in January 2012) is now available at a special sale price.

An Arcade Classic Comes to iPhone!
The second installment in a space shooting game trilogy that began with 1993’s RAYFORCE and concluded with RAYCRISIS™, RAYSTORM caused a sensation when it was released to arcades in 1996. The iPhone edition faithfully recreates all of the features that made the arcade and home console editions such a hit, from the enthralling 3D graphics and unique atmosphere to the cinematic camerawork and fan-favorite Lock-On Laser weapon.

A New RAYSTORM, Optimized for iPhone!
In addition to intuitive smartphone controls and a pixel-perfect Arcade Mode, this edition of the game includes a special iPhone Mode with revised enemy attack patterns, updated graphics, and remixed background music. Players are able to take control of both the R-GRAY1 and R-GRAY2 fighters, and they also have a choice between manual weapon controls and button-free automatic firing. The presence of these modes allow players—from experienced shooting fans to series newcomers—to customize the game to best suit their individual play styles.

Commemorating the release of RAY-series second installment RAYSTORM, previously released game RAYFORCE has been placed on sale.
