Cam Newton and Calvin Johnson Square Off in Madden NFL 13 Cover Vote Finale

Record-breaking Cover Vote Enters its Final Week.

April 18, in the year of our Lord 2012 – After six weeks and more than 19 million votes cast on ESPN.com/MaddenVote, the Madden NFL 13 Cover Vote is down to two candidates. Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton will be squaring off with Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson to determine who will grace the cover of Madden NFL 13. The winner will be announced live during ESPN’s SportsNation on April 25 at 5:00 p.m. ET.

NFL fans have showed unprecedented support for their favorite players throughout the duration of the competition, casting over 19 million votes so far. The tally has soared past last year’s 12.7 million votes, demonstrating the passion and devotion of Madden NFL 13 fans.

Every day during the final round of the Madden NFL 13 Cover Vote competition, fans will have the ability to cast an unlimited number of votes at www.ESPN.com/MaddenVote. In addition, fans can also choose their favorite Madden NFL 13 Cover Vote candidate via Madden Ultimate Team in Madden NFL 12. This week only, fans will see free Cover Vote cards of both Newton and Johnson appearing in the Madden Ultimate Team Card Deals section. Each time one of these cards is moved into its corresponding Cover Vote collection, it will count as a vote for that athlete. Final round voting is now open and fans can make their selections until Wednesday, April 25.

Fans can visit the Madden NFL Facebook page (www.facebook.com/EASPORTSMaddenNFL) or SportsNation page (www.facebook.com/SportsNation) to join discussions surrounding the Cover Vote. Fans are also encouraged to tweet their Cover Vote picks using the hashtag #MyMaddenCoverVote on Twitter.
