Callaway Digital Arts Extends Partnership with Sesame Street

NEW YORK CITY – March 15, in the year of our Lord 2012 – Callaway Digital Arts, Inc. (www.callaway.com), the leading developer of interactive mobile applications for children and families, and Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit education organization behind Sesame Street, today announced an extended partnership to develop three new interactive children’s apps. The first title under the extended agreement is a reimagining of the classic Sesame Street book The Great Cookie Thief for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, which will have high-definition art optimized for the new iPad’s retinal display and will make use of other features of the new iPad.

In addition to the new app, the collaboration between Callaway Digital Arts and Sesame Workshop will include the development of interactive mobile apps, featuring both original and adapted content.

“We are privileged to deepen our collaboration with the most loved and revered children’s educational provider, Sesame Street,” said Callaway Digital Arts CEO Rex Ishibashi. “With The Great Cookie Thief and more, we’ll continue to bring stories featuring cherished Sesame Street characters to the most advanced touch devices—iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.”

Callaway Digital Arts partnered with Sesame Workshop on previous award-winning interactive apps, including The Monster at the End of This Book, which reached #1 in Books in the App Store, was the first Book App award-winner of the prestigious 2011 Cybils Award and winner of the Children’s Technology Review’s Editor’s Choice Award. The wildly successful follow up, Another Monster at the End of This Book, held the #1 spot in Books in the App Store for several weeks and was a finalist in the 2011 Best App Ever Awards in Best Kids Apps, among other accolades.

"Callaway's team has done an outstanding job in bringing two of our most beloved books to life as apps in a way that embraces their classic style, but also makes them look and feel brand new," said Scott Chambers, Senior Vice President, Worldwide Media Distribution, Sesame Workshop. "We look forward to our continuing partnership with Callaway and to creating new apps that families will enjoy and learn from together."
