Scholastic Touch and Tilt Apps now Available

February 17, in the year of our Lord 2010 - Scholastic Media, a division of Scholastic Inc., the global children’s publishing, education and media company, today launched iPhone- (™) and iPod touch ® -capable versions of two titles from its “Touch & Tilt” series of storybook applications, which were released for iPad earlier this year. I LOVE YOU THROUGH AND THROUGH and GO, CLIFFORD, GO!, introduce age-appropriate, re-playable reading experiences that leverage the unique technologies of the iPhone and iPod touch to bring the books to life. These storybook apps allow the youngest of children to read and play independently – seamlessly combining how they naturally want to interact with the story and characters with the unique capabilities of the platforms to provide hours of reading and play. These new apps, like the original iPad versions, are available through the iTunes App Store. Both are $4.99 (additional product details below).

The I LOVE YOU and GO, CLIFFORD, GO! storybook apps join other highly rated Scholastic game apps already available for iPhone and iPod touch devices: CLIFFORD’S BE BIG WITH WORDS which promotes word-building, vocabulary and spelling skills; I SPY SPOOKY MANSION and I SPY RIDDLE RACE, which take the beloved seek-and-find game to new levels of interactivity and competition; THE 39 CLUES (™) MADRIGAL MAZE, which extends the popular book series adventure; WORD GIRL (™) WORD HUNT, an action-packed vocabulary boosting game; and GOOSEBUMPS (™) PHOTOSHOCK, which transforms photos into ghastly images.

Scholastic Media released its “Touch & Tilt” line of iPad storybook apps in January. In addition to I LOVE YOU and CLIFFORD (™), THE MAGIC SCHOOL BUS (™): OCEANS debuted as an immediate top-seller and continues to be. One of the very few science-focused educational apps on the App Store, THE MAGIC SCHOOL BUS: OCEANS is based on the popular book and television series.
