Video Game Awards (2005) Fails for third straight year

Spike TV decided to arrogantly proclaim themselves the hosters of VGA (Video Game Awards) back in 2003. This is the third year Spike TV has had this particular awards show. They have failed miserably each and every single year. In the year of our Lord 2005 they have continued with their peddling of enslavement to lust, and violence. There are quite a few questions about many of the games that won, and the games that were the nominees. It would seem (to many industry experts) that if a company pays Spike TV enough money they become a nominee. Very few of the games nominated belong in a video game awards show. The most vile, evil, and wicked video games were the ones they glorified. Talk about backwards.

Moral ratings of video games seem to have been totally missed by the pro-degeneration crowd who created, hosted, and participated in the backwards award show. Parents groups, politicians, and concerned organizations are taking a long, hard look at the moral decay in video games. Science has been looking at the negative side effects of video games. Glorifying the bad aspects of an industry does nothing but encourage more interest from all those organizations. It is almost like those people are begging the government to shut them down.

Let the Working Man Gamer be crystal clear - Spike TV does not speak for the video game industry. Their VGA show does not speak for the video game industry. The Working Man Gamer is disgusted and repulsed by what Spike TV, and the VGA came up with. Those games are not the best of this industry; they are the worst. The Working Man Gamer will continue to stand up for what is right, and stand up against what is wrong. {2005-12-11}

VGA Rating: (F)
