I am very thankful that my hubby purchased Tom & Jerry The Movie on DVD from the early Black Friday sales for us to watch. I have been into Tom and Jerry for a long time. I was very interested in seeing this movie. Tom & Jerry The Movie is way different than I expected it to be. This movie is set in a live action world and we have animated characters in it. Tom and Jerry are not the only animated characters in Tom & Jerry The Movie. There are plenty of real people in Tom & Jerry The Movie as well.

Chloe Grace Moretz plays Kayla in Tom & Jerry The Movie. She cons her way into a job via deception at the Royal Gate Hotel while a major wedding is going on for two celebrities. At the same time Jerry sneaks into the hotel and decides to start living there by stealing what he needs for a small mouse sized room. Tom is not happy about it and tries to get Jerry. Along the way Tom gets hired at the hotel to get rid of the mouse.

There is some high brow concepts in Tom & Jerry The Movie about treating certain people better than others. Tom & Jerry The Movie contains some action violence along with some language. The religious belief of evolution is also referenced in Tom & Jerry The Movie. Tom & Jerry The Movie made me feel really bad for Tom. He is so mistreated in Tom & Jerry The Movie.

Tom & Jerry The Movie also works on the cat and mouse to work together and to get along. The damage they cause when they fight is epic. It lands them and humans in all kinds of hot water. In many cases Jerry deserves what he gets and a whole lot more. He ruins a gig Tom has early on in the movie. He does not even try to apologize or make things right. He just goes about his selfish life.

I was expecting something completely different from Tom & Jerry The Movie. I thought this movie would be only about Tom and Jerry. I thought this movie was going to be completely animated. Tom & Jerry The Movie threw me for a loop there. There are some very funny moments within Tom & Jerry The Movie. For the most part Tom & Jerry The Movie is pretty clean which is a good thing these days.
