Seeds of Resilience

Have you ever dreamed about being marooned on a deserted island? If you have then Seeds of Resilience is the video game for you. In this downloadable only video game you must painfully recreate society based on what is available to you. Seeds of Resilience is a 336 meg download on the Nintendo Switch. I am unsure what the size is on the Personal Computer (PC). We can play Missions or Survival in Seeds of Resilience. The other options available in this game are Settings, Credits, and Loading a game.

I recommend families start in the missions to learn about things that need to be done in this game. We need to find food, craft tools, and build shelter. Storms come to Seeds of Resilience way too often. It can be difficult to survive in Seeds of Resilience at times. What makes it even worse is how many hours our villagers have per day versus how long some things can take.

Seeds of Resilience has nature sounds, and it looks decent. I did notice a lot of the graphics are small unless you zoom in. I had trouble reading the directions and hints when the Nintendo Switch was undocked. I had to play Seeds of Resilience on the television to figure out what to do in certain situations. Seeds of Resilience leaves a few things out when it comes to learning. Like you have more than one person on the raft and can swap between people to get things done faster.

I love how Seeds of Resilience lets us recycle things like our rafts to get materials we need to make something like a fishing spear. As we beat each mission we unlock additional characters. This is very important since different characters have different skills. Maybe one is better at chopping down trees. That will allow you to get materials faster. With the threat of a storm always looming that is very important.

I really enjoyed Seeds of Resilience. It made me think about what needs to be done. I need to feed these people. I need tools to build. I should fish more than one location so I do not fish out the area. I should leave some blackberries so more will grow in the future. Seeds of Resilience encourages sustainability. Seeds of Resilience also teaches us to use the resources available to us.
