Eureka Season Three

If you and your family have been watching the FFG Haul videos then you knew this review was coming. Eureka Season Three on DVD was given to me as a birthday present. I have gotten into this quirky show and will purchase the final two seasons at some point. The humor in Eureka Season Three is fantastic. I love the sheriff (Jack Carter) and his brand of humor. He also does a decent job of protecting his daughter from making mistakes.

Eureka Season Three is longer than previous seasons. It takes thirteen hours and seven minutes to get through all of Eureka Season Three. It was split into season 3.0 and season 3.5. Thankfully both parts were put into the four DVD discs. There are plenty of cast changes in Eureka Season Three. Zane has a bigger role in Eureka Season Three. Allison Blake is gone for half of the season with the birth of her child conceived out of wedlock.

SPOILER ALERTS! Nathan Stark dies in Eureka Season Three. Sheriff Carter loses his job and is reinstated. Henry Deacon is put in jail and then let out later on. Henry Deacon also becomes the mayor in Eureka Season Three. Zoe Carter is leaving at the end of the season. I am unclear who will be coming back in the next season and who will be gone for good. There is a lot of cast turmoil in Eureka Season Three.

The issues families will have with Eureka Season Three are violence, blood, death, gore, religious teachings of evolution, sex outside of marriage, and more. We almost get a wedding in Eureka Season Three. Sadly things go off the rails in typical Eureka style. Crazy problems are constantly solved with unrealistic solutions. Some of the technology in Eureka Season Three makes no sense to me.

I had heard the quality of this show dropped off at some point. Eureka Season Three is definitely showing signs of decline. Which is a shame because there is so much humor in this science fiction television show. I will stick it out for the final two seasons and see if there are any gems for families in there. It was fun watching all eighteen episodes of Eureka Season Three on DVD.
