Paperboy 2

I found Paperboy 2 for a really cheap price at a local used video game story. Long before there was the genre sims, Paperboy 2 simulated the life of a paperboy. Memorize the route and then deliver papers to the right addresses. Paperboy 2 does not help the gamer with any kind of icons to know which houses get papers.

Paperboy 2 is a difficult game too. There are all kinds of things in your way. Arms reaching out of the sewer, vehicles, dogs, balls, and more. Hit something and you crash. I died a lot trying to find the patterns in Paperboy 2. I like the graphics for the era. The visuals are better than I expect for that release date. The music is nice to listen to as well. Tengen did a good job putting Paperboy 2 together.

My biggest problem with Paperboy 2 is inconsistency. One time I could ride to the left of a giant truck. The next time it hit me. There is so many things to avoid and so much to remember I had to make notes just to complete a level. By the way do not expect to complete the first level the first time you play Paperboy 2.

If you are looking for a solid difficult retro experience then I suggest you take a good hard and long look at Paperboy 2 on the Sega Genesis, and Super NES.
