I am very thankful Disney sent Family Friendly Gaming a reviewable
copy of Descendants 2 on DVD. This movie picks up where the last one
left off and shows us some of the stresses of becoming a lady of the
court. Descendants 2 also shows us how it can be difficult for some
people to change their spots. We run across new teenagers from the
island that are descendants of other Disney villains.
Descendants 2 comes with a necklace that has five villain icons on it.
The bonus content on Descendants 2 is cast secrets, bloopers, deleted
songs, and some portions of Descendants Wicked World. Descendants Wicked
World is the animated version of this universe. Descendants 2 continues
the musical dance franchise in a lot of interesting ways, like the final
dance sequence.
Since I knew what happened in the last movie I was really surprised with
how Descendants 2 started out. The four main villain teenagers from the
last movie are making magical apples that are wicked. They are running
around the prep school making everyone else do evil things. It through
me for a loop. Then I realized it was only a thought, fantasy, or day
dream. Mal has a lot of trouble coping with living happily ever after
with Ben.
There is some mild magic in Descendants 2. There are also some mild
insults, and a sword fight scene. Descendants 2 is really tame in terms
of content that families might find offensive. Two characters transform
into monsters late in the movie. Descendants 2 teaches us to respect
others, listen to them, do not pressure people, don't fight, give people
a second chance, do not keep secrets, and more.
I found plenty of humor in Descendants 2. There are also some great
songs in Descendants 2. I hope Ubisoft makes another Just Dance Disney
Party video game, because there are songs in Descendants 2 that we need
to be able to dance to in a video game. Since our popular Youtube
channel has received a lot of feedback on dances from the first
Descendants movie - maybe they could use the same dances and people from
the movie in the game.
I enjoyed Descendants 2 more than I expected I would. I also noticed
there is a bit of an ending in Descendants 2 that makes me think there
will be a Descendants 3 movie coming in the future. It was a pleasure
for me to watch and review Descendants 2 on DVD. I am thankful I was
given the opportunity to enjoy this musical dance movie. The final dance
sequence is exceptional.
