X-Men Apocalypse

We purchased a copy of X-Men Apocalypse on DVD recently. It also came with the Digital HD. Something I doubt we will use anytime soon. The X-Men movies are getting darker and darker lately. X-Men Apocalypse is so close to a seventeen and older rating I am unclear how it avoided it. The long list of bad content is coming up. I found it to be shocking personally.

The issues in X-Men Apocalypse are false gods, false goddess, tries to deny Christ, teaches the religious belief of evolution, blood, gore, gruesome deaths, violence, bad language, enticement to lust, lack of attire, and more. The one saving grace is Nightcrawler prays in X-Men Apocalypse. Sadly the movie glosses over that. In fact it feels like X-Men Apocalypse tries to hide Nightcrawler's faith.

I am not going to try and get started on how off cannon X-Men Apocalypse is from the comic books. Holly Weird is not capable of keeping things to their roots. I guess they think they know better. Problem is X-Men Apocalypse feels so disconnected. Too many convenient moments in X-Men Apocalypse. At times Apocalypse is shown as all powerful, and other times he is shown as missing it.

X-Men Apocalypse threatens to show us the end of the world. Liberals will applaud the destruction of all nuclear weapons in X-Men Apocalypse. Thing is it makes little sense to me in the storyline. I guess Apocalypse feared getting nuked while he was having Magneto use the Earth's magnetics to destroy most of humanity. By the way, the way that was done made little sense to me. Shaking the Earth deep underground should not have rocks floating around. Sure it looks cool, but feels wrong when you logically think about it.

Wolverine makes an appearance in X-Men Apocalypse. In fact Scott Summers and Jean Grey free him from being Weapon X. Again lets not obsess over comic book continuity. Let us just say Holly Weird is not capable of reading or sticking to cannon of anything. I don't think Holly Weird has any footing left in reality which makes their credibility wind up so far in the negatives I am not even sure there is such a number invented yet.

Quicksilver is a fantastic characters in X-Men Apocalypse. He gives us some great comic relief. SPOILER ALERT! Storm, Arch-Angel, and Psyclocke are three of the Four Horsemen. Magneto rounds out the group. Thankfully most of them come to their senses near the end. Too much of Apocalypse is a mystery before he is killed off in X-Men Apocalypse.
