X-Men Legends II Rise of Apocalypse

After my dad and I finished up Justice League Heroes, my dad suggested we might find similar game play in X-Men Legends II Rise of Apocalypse. So Family Friendly Gaming purchased it for under ten dollars and we went to work. It took us a couple of months to work in the ten hours it took to go through X-Men Legends II Rise of Apocalypse on the Playstation 2.

The monotony of murdering so many characters can be exhausting. There were some nights I did not even want to see X-Men Legends II Rise of Apocalypse because I knew how mind numbingly dull this home console hack and slash video game is. The only interesting thing there is to do in X-Men Legends II Rise of Apocalypse is to swap characters around. Characters that are not being used are kept within five levels of characters that are being played.

Some of the bad stuff in X-Men Legends II Rise of Apocalypse is enticement to lust, murder, death, blood, gore, violence, super powers, demonic characters, religious teachings of evolution, long loading screens, and more. The camera can be a pain after a cut scene. For some reason the camera likes to reverse angles after some of them. This is annoying beyond belief. Sure I could swing it around again with the controller. The problem is I did not realize it at first and started running the wrong direction.

There are some timed events in X-Men Legends II Rise of Apocalypse. Otherwise players can take their time and use their powers to slice and dice their way through so many of the same looking enemies. Thankfully different chapters have different enemies. The Danger Room is interesting for players who want to go at it against one another. Two players can wade through X-Men Legends II Rise of Apocalypse at a time. That number jumps to four if your family owns a Multitap (and four controllers).

Early on some of the voice acting was wrong. Then later the right voices were used. There are offensive images in X-Men Legends II Rise of Apocalypse like Wolverine showing the middle claw to another character. It is cool to see the X-Men and Brotherhood of Mutants work together in X-Men Legends II Rise of Apocalypse. Some of the mazes can be confusing and convoluted in X-Men Legends II Rise of Apocalypse.

Something that confused me is Juggernaut can break through some walls, and not others. Even when the wall looked really flimsy and nothing can stop the Juggernaut when he gets going. There is plenty of unlockable content in X-Men Legends II Rise of Apocalypse to find throughout the levels. In my opinion X-Men Legends II Rise of Apocalypse is slightly better than Justice League Heroes.
