Radiant Historia

Normally I only do previews on games I have personally played. However after spending an hour attending an Atlus press event I am comfortable enough to write something intelligent (or somewhat intelligent) on Radiant Historia. You have probably see coverage of this role playing game for months on Family Friendly Gaming. You may be interested about Radiant Historia. You might even be thinking about purchasing it on February 22, in the year of our Lord 2011. Now is the time to get excited about this Nintendo DS role playing game. The time traveling aspect of this game is amazing. There are numerous points where decisions are made, and they branch into different histories. Some of these are dead ends, like the death of your team. Which will also answer the question of multiple endings. Yes there are multiple endings, many of them grim. The music is exceptional, and stands out in this hand held game. Radiant Historia contains a soundtrack CD which also stood out at the Atlus press event. The graphics look nice, although some areas were darker tones, and one female character is busting out. The battle system is standard role playing done on a grid. Your team can push the enemies into the same square which is referred to as stacking. Then attacking them does damage to both of them at the same time. This is a pretty novel concept, and one that I look forward to playing. There is also a section of the battles where you can swap the order of the characters. Be careful though because there is a risk reward there. I was interested in Radiant Historia before the Atlus press event, but now I am excited. Lord willing we will get a review to our readers as soon as a reviewable copy arrives, and I can play through it. Although I can see some late nights with this game. {02/04/2011}
