NinjaTown

NinjaTown

Yolanda actually found NinjaTown on the Nintendo DS on the clearance aisle at one of our favorite stores. Sorry, no free plug in the preview. This is a tower defense game done with ninjas. Now that may seem strange at first, and the red alerts may be going off. Don't worry friends, I refuse to be like other sites and claim something is family friendly when it is not. They lose credibility quickly with families when they make such delusional claims. NinjaTown has cute looking characters, and this franchise has actually had other games. We have played that NinjaTown Trees of Doom on the iPod Touch and thoroughly enjoyed it. But back to the Nintendo DS game. NinjaTown has the player build huts. Pretty exciting huh? These huts house different kinds of ninjas. Ones that are faster and less powerful, or more powerful and a little slower. There are ninjas hopped up on caffeine, ninjas that throw ice balls, and more. The demons come into the town to try and destroy things or just pass into the town to steal stuff - like a cookie recipe. Players earn more currency by having their ninjas punch away their health bars. The humor in NinjaTown is self depreciating. Some of it hits the mark, and other times I shook my head at the cliches. I hope to get a review done in an upcoming issue of Family Friendly Gaming. The ESRB game rated NinjaTown 'E' for Everyone with Crude Humor, and Mild Cartoon Violence as the two descriptors. {05/06/2011} - Paul
