Save me Mr Tako! Release Date

SANTA ANA, California, October 8, in the year of our Lord 2018 — On World Octopus Day, Nicalis, Ink. today announced the release date for Save me Mr Tako!, the all-new platforming adventure coming to Nintendo Switch™ and Steam. The charming throwback-style game stars a friendly octopus named Mr Tako and will celebrate October as “The Month of the Octopus” by releasing on October 30, 2018.

Save me Mr Tako! takes place in a world where humans and octopi are at war. Mr Tako is a persistently helpful little octopus who rescues a woman from drowning one stormy night. A fairy sees this act of bravery and grants him the ability to survive on land, where he strays from his family and his people in an attempt to resolve the conflicts between the octopus and human races.

Along his journey, Mr Tako can discover and wear 50 different hats to gain special abilities, which will help him solve puzzles, fight tenacious bosses and navigate the 16 mysterious dungeons that are scattered throughout six connected worlds. The game is a heartfelt homage to the portable-gaming past, with bitmapped graphics in player-selectable color palettes and chiptune instrumentation to complete the authentic retro vibe.

Save me Mr Tako! is designed by French developer Christophe Galati and co-developed with Nicalis. The game is rated E10+ by the ESRB and releases on October 30, 2018 as a digital download for Nintendo Switch and the Steam platform for $14.99.

No word on a physical copy version of this game on these systems at this time. Families are required to pay for Internet usage fees to download this game. For more information click here.
