UFHO2 on Steam Release Date

27, in the year of our Lord 2015 -- UFHO2 out on Steam
on the 1st of June. UFHO2 is a competitive game that looks like
a mix between a strategy and a board game. In turn-based
fashion, you play an alien who is moving about a labyrinthine
UFO made of dozens of rotating hexagonal rooms, trying to
outsmart your opponent in the effort of getting first to some
Gems that spawn in the spaceship.
Plan your next turn, think fast, act faster, and outmaneuver
your opponent by predicting his moves. UFHO2 may remind players
of chess for its emergent layers of strategic complexity, though
with a slightly faster pace. If you are into scheming, puzzles,
strategy and tactics, UFHO2 will put your brain to the test.
In this sequel to the original web game, things get bigger and
better in every way: 10 different stages, more board layouts,
all new characters (including 6 guests from other indie games),
new game modes, and more power-ups. On top of this, the Steam
version also includes Steam Leaderboards, Achievements, Stats,
and Collectable Cards.
Play the single player Campaign and learn the basics of UFHO2,
as you move through the story that ties together the 10 cute
alien races and their home planets, unlocking them all to use in
multiplayer matches. Once you're comfortable with your skills,
try your worth in the Situations, pre-made missions where you
cannot afford any mistake. Both Campaign and Situations have an
overall score that will go into the Leaderboards. How many turns
will it take you to complete all of UFHO2?
You can also setup Custom matches to experiment with the
different characters' powers, or with the power-ups. Or invite
some friends to play up to 4 players on the same computer, and
prepare for the upcoming online multiplayer. All of this while
you enjoy the amazing and moody soundtrack made by composer
Francesco D'Andrea.
Developer Ciro Continisio says: "Developing UFHO2 has been an
incredible and long ride. Development started 5 years ago as a
Flash game, then I remade it to work on mobiles. Funding it with
Kickstarter was just the start of the adventure, and despite my
lack of experience and adverse conditions such as the game
sitting on Greenlight for more than two years, it is finally
coming to Steam. This definitive version of UFHO2 is more packed
with features than ever, but the gameplay hasn't lost any of its
charm, and today it is still the marvellous strategy game that
hooked so many players since its first web appearance 7 years
ago."
UFHO2 was originally funded on Kickstarter in 2012. In April
2014, it was initially released for iPad and PC, getting on
Android and iPhones in November 2014. Now, it is getting on
Steam on the 1st of June 2015 with a host of new features, and
plans for cross-platform online multiplayer in the future. Steam
will also feature a Deluxe edition, that includes 2 DLCs: the
game soundtrack, and a package including hundreds of images
documenting the two years of development of the game.
