Nintendo Direct 08-07-2013
August 07, in the year of our Lord 2013 - -
Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the
family friendly video games covered the Nintendo Direct this
morning.
Mr Iwata welcomes us, and wants to show us upcoming Wii U and
Nintendo 3DS titles. Sonic Lost World on the Wii U starts us
off. A video of the game is shown. The game is looking good.
Sort of a Super Mario Galaxy concept added to Sonic. October 22,
2013 it comes out. The 3DS version is out on the same day. The
3DS and Wii U versions will connect via local wireless.
Rayman Legends for the Wii U is up next. A video of the game is
shown. Looking really good, and very colorful. Five different
worlds, wide types of game play, and different kinds of stages.
The Wii U Gamepad can help the other players by taking on a
different role. Five players can enjoy this game at the same
time. Mini games look fun. The Mario and Luigi costumes are
interesting. Launches on September 3rd, 2013.
Art Academy Sketchpad on the Wii U is up next. A short video was
shown. Launches on August 9th. Nintendo wants to highlight the
great art made by users on the Mii message boards.
Erik Peterson from the Nintendo Treehouse is our next presenter.
He references Pikmin 3, and its recent release. He shows how to
use the Wii U Gamepad to take a screenshot from the Pikmin's
view. They want pictures shared on Facebook.
The Year of Luigi is referenced. Mario & Luigi Dream Team is
brought up. A video is shown. Badges are referenced, and how
they are used in pairs. The Gear items are also brought up and
shown. Expert challenges are shown and discussed. If you die a
hint block will come up to help you. Launches in August 11,
2013.
Pokemon Rumble U is brought up. A video is shown. Tons of
intense action violence is shown. Strategy is needed for the
seventy different stages. Multiplayer action is shown. Toy
Pokemon are shown - 18 figures in all. Launches August 29th in
e-Shop.
Nintendo 3DS time. Shantae was referenced. So was another hard
to find retro classic - Summer Carnival ’92: RECCA. NES version
of Donkey Kong was shown (August 15th release), and Tecmo Bowl
was shown. Wario Land 3 is also come to the eShop on August
29th. Super Mario Bros. 3 will be coming to Nintendo 3DS and Wii
U eShops.
Streetpass Mii Plaza and Nintendo Zone is brought back up. This
was shown in the Nintendo Mini Direct. Animal Crossing will have
new Animal Crossing content. Pumpkin Pie is the first item
coming.
Professor Layton is coming back. In 2014 Professor Layton and
the Azran Legacy will release, and the video of it is shown. He
says that will be the last game they are showing.
Oops he lied. Professor Layton will also appear in the Professor
Layton vs Phoenix Wright. A cross-over title between two
franchises. Hopefully it will receive a low rating so families
can enjoy it.
Back to Mr Iwata. He wants to talk about Zelda. The Legend of
Zelda A Link Between Worlds is discussed. The logo is shown, and
explained (light and dark Tri-forces). Then a video is shown.
There will be two worlds in this upcoming Nintendo 3DS game.
Link must travel between the two worlds. This game is set many
years after A Link to the Past. The main character is an
entirely new Link. More info coming soon. Launches November
2013.
The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker HD is brought up next. A video is
shown, and this water world is discussed. This is a twelve year
old Gamecube game. Adjustments have been made to make it better.
Launches in October 2013.
The Year of Luigi is being referenced again. As well as game
releases earlier this year. Luigi will be in Super Smash Bros
for Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS.
Animal Crossing New Leaf was released in June in North America,
Europe, and Australia. It was out previously in Japan. A new Wii
U Miiverse board is being released. Mr Iwata takes us on the
tour of Animal Crossing Plaza. Messages can be seen. Pictures
can be posted, and messages can be added to them as well. Shirts
can be scanned as well. You can post about certain Animal
Crossing characters too. People all over the world can connect
in Animal Crossing Plaza. It will be there until the end of
2014. It is being released today.
August 9th at 9am the Wonderful 101 Direct will be coming out.
