Dark Side of Gaming – Service Agreements

Cordova, TN; September 2, in the year of our Lord 2019 -- Family Friendly Gaming, the industry leader in covering the family friendly video games is continuing our requested series on the DARK SIDE OF GAMING. This article is on the service agreements within the video game industry. These one-sided contracts cannot be legal in any way, shape or form. Consumers purchase a video game, install the video game, and then are told they cannot use their own property that they paid for unless they agree to all of the radical terms of the company that made the game. Where else does this happen?

Good luck trying to return an opened product to a retailer because you disagree with their one-sided contract. How dare these companies act like we have no rights whatsoever. Ever think about minors in relation to these service agreements? Legally they cannot be bound into any contracts based on their age. Yet these companies blanket all gamers with these fanatical one-sided contracts acting like we have to do whatever they say. We are the customer here. We are the ones keeping them in business. All gamers should tell these companies we do not approve of their terms.

Too few gamers actually read the service agreements. We have read them here at Family Friendly Gaming. The zealot nature of these one-sided contracts are insane. There are things like you cannot sell the game or give it away to someone else. If you want to get out of the contract you must pay for a certified and/or notarized letter to be sent to the company. You promise to give them all rights to your immortal soul. You do not own your own property just leasing it from them. You promise to never sue them for any reason ever. I am not one for law suits. In this instance there needs to be a class action law suit against these companies to stop this madness right now.

I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.

God bless,
