Nova-111 Releases Today

LONDON – August 25, in the year of our Lord 2015 – And we have lift off! Indie developer Funktronic Labs and publisher Curve Digital today announced that Nova-111, the unique turn-based yet real-time sci-fi adventure, is now available worldwide on PlayStation 4 and on PC and Mac via Steam. Fans who purchase the game early will receive a special promotional discount. Paying tribute to the spirit of space and flight, the team at Curve Digital orchestrated a lift-off of the PlayStation Vita version of Nova-111 into space via a specially made helium balloon.

Nova-111 is a quirky sci-fi adventure game set in space that utilizes an interesting in-game mechanic in which players must manipulate both turn-based strategy and real-time gameplay to fight alien creatures and solve puzzles. Players must take control of the research vessel Nova and explore space to save 111 of the world’s greatest minds after the biggest scientific experiment in the universe goes horribly wrong.

Nova-111 is the brain child of ex Q-Games developers Eddie Lee and Kalin, whose previous work includes the PixelJunk series. Since its initial announcement, the game has been a mainstay in the American expo scene, taking home multiple awards at both PAX and SXSW as well as a finalist nomination at Indiecade 2014.

Nova-111 will be available on Xbox One on August 28, and the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3 versions will release in North America on September 1. A Wii U version will arrive later this year. Nova-111 is cross-buy enabled for PlayStation platforms, meaning that players are able to purchase the PS4 version today and will automatically receive the PS Vita and PS3 versions upon launch next week.

Developed by Funktronic Labs and published by Curve Digital, Nova-111 is rated “E” for Everyone by the ESRB and has an MSRP of $14.99 for all platforms (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Steam, Xbox One, Wii U).
