Hand in Hand Your Love Your Life Kickstarter Campaign

A family friendly card game that encourages love and compassion while promoting care for abandoned and disabled children

June 24, in the year of our Lord 2013 -- Family Friendly Gaming covers very few Kickstarter campaigns. So when they do you can rest assured they are worth your time.

Why you should back this project

In China, children with disabilities are often abandoned due to high costs, low education and social prejudice. With this card game, players have the opportunity to rescue these children and give them a home for life.

What is Hand in Hand?

Hand in Hand is a deck of 60 cards, each with two different brightly coloured halves that depict one half of a child that needs your help to be made whole. Similar to a deck of playing cards, there’s no limit to how many ways you can play with these cards. We have however, created rules for a game that has been successfully playtested with over a dozen different groups of players ranging from 6-40 years old.

All playtest groups reported a high level of enjoyment while also demonstrating that the rules are easy to learn.

The basic game is suitable for 2-6 players aged 6+ and can be played in 15-20 minutes. By matching colours, players create a chain of children holding hands that can be “taken home” to score points. This is a great family game that offers positive, encouraging turns leaving everyone feeling like they’ve contributed to something good.

The game will come with several ways to play with the same deck of cards to allow for varying levels of complexity, strategy, competition and replayability. Every backer will gain access to a website that contains rules for these other games that can be played with this deck of cards, and offer backers a chance to submit their own.

Once manufactured, this game will be used to promote International China Concern – a charitable organization dedicated to providing full lives for the abandoned and disabled children in China. Outside of Kickstarter, the only way to get a copy of this game will be to become a child sponsor with International China Concern.

Help spread the word and everyone wins with additional upgrades to the game!

- $15,000: Double the print run: Backers may choose to receive an additional copy of the game or have the additional copy sent to one of the kids in our care instead.

How you can support this project.
