XSEED Games Details Monsters and Enemies in Wizardry Labyrinth of Lost Souls

In the coming weeks of spring, XSEED Games will take players on a retro trip into the history of RPGs with the release of Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls, the latest title in a legendary series with roots stretching all the way back to 1981. One of the longest-standing franchises in gaming, the latest iteration of the Wizardry series – and the first available for Next-Gen consoles – will be made exclusively available for download via PlayStationŽNetwork when it launches this spring.

Colloquially known as the “Granddaddy of RPGs,” Wizardry was one of the first games to introduce grid-based dungeon crawling from (what was, at the time) a unique first-person perspective. Brought up-to-date for a new generation of hardcore RPG fanatics, Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls features gorgeous hand-drawn graphics from famed artist Yuki Hayabusa, presented in crisp high definition. The result is a modern take on an old-school gaming experience unlike any other.

Monsters Galore!
In Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls, players may choose from ten unique characters – male or female from five different races – each of which has his/her own unique backstory to offer. After rallying a party of up to six members, players are tasked with delving into sinister dungeons to take on a diverse array of 120 different monsters. Some, like bloodthirsty Berserkers, vicious Trolls or dog-like Kobolds, prefer to rely on brute physical force to incarcerate their prey, while plenty of dungeon-dwellers such as undead Banshees, haunting Grave Mists and chillingly brutal Greater Daemons use the forces of magic to their advantage. The one thing they all have in common is that you’re the one they’re after!

Bosses, and More!
But that’s not all Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls has to offer in terms of opposition. There are a few truly difficult monsters to overcome as the game goes on that will test the skills of even the most hardened RPG veterans. Creatures such as the always vigilant Vampire Queen or the massive nine-headed golden Hydra known as "Kowloon,” which intimidates with its startling ability to regenerate, await high-level players deep within Wizardry’s sprawling dungeons. Only the toughest of dungeon warriors will have a chance at taking down these brutal and ruthless creatures.

Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls, developed by ACQUIRE and set to be published by XSEED Games, will be available for download via PlayStationŽ Network this spring, with additional downloadable content to be made available in the coming weeks. The game is rated “T” (for Teen) by the ESRB.
