XSEED Games Announces Fishing Resort for Wii Has Gone Gold

Torrance, Calif., (November 9, in the year of our Lord 2011) – XSEED Games, an independent-minded publisher, today announced that the open-world vacation title, Fishing Resort™ for Wii™ has gone gold and will ship to retailers across North America on November 22, 2011. In addition to the standalone game at a suggested retail price of $19.99, Fishing Resort will also be released as a bundle with NAMCO BANDAI Games’ own fishing rod controller peripheral packaged with the game at a suggested retail price of $29.99. Developed exclusively for use with Fishing Resort, this high-quality peripheral attaches the Wii Remote™ and Nunchuk™ controllers to mimic the movements of fishing with a rod and reel, providing an unprecedented virtual fishing experience.

Created by NAMCO BANDAI Games and PROPE in Japan, the studio led by the celebrated former head of Sonic Team, Yuji Naka, Fishing Resort turns players loose on a tropical island paradise resort and lets them experience their vacation as they see fit. Fishing Resort’s environment is incredibly varied thanks to the island’s multitude of locations, from peaceful lakes and dense, lush forests to sandy beaches, deep blue seas and even ice-covered mountains. Best of all, as an open-world game, players can move about the island as they choose and enjoy a wide variety of fishing activities at their own pace.

Fishing Resort also offers an array of challenges for players who are looking for a break from the fishing action. With over 20 different mini-games from kayak racing to scavenger hunts around the island, as well as submarine tours and the ability to customize your own massive aquarium, Fishing Resort is full of activities. When players want to fish though, they can rest assured that they won’t have to go far to catch some of the game’s 200-plus fish. In Fishing Resort, wherever there is water, players can fish!

XSEED Games will release the Fishing Resort bundle in North America with the fishing rod accessory on November 22, for an MSRP of $29.99, as well as offer the game as a standalone game for an MSRP of $19.99. The game was developed by PROPE and licensed through NAMCO BANDAI Games.
